Credential Verification Via Trumerit International
The NCNZ requires all IQNs to have their credentials verified by Trumerit International, a US-based organization specializing in evaluating international qualifications.
You will apply to CGFNS and provide them with your identity documents, nursing registration/license from your home country, full academic transcripts, post-registration nursing practice, and your proof of English language proficiency. CGFNS will verify these documents directly with their issuing sources and produce a "CVS-NCNZ Report" that compares your qualifications to New Zealand's standards.
Once your CVS-NCNZ report is generated, you will need to approve it for Trumerit to send it to the Nursing Council.
If the NCNZ confirms your eligibility, you will receive an invitation to the next step. In the next phase, you will be required to complete and pay for your application, complete the required online courses, undergo a criminal history check, and if instructed by the nursing council, complete a competence assessment.
Application to the Nursing Council of New Zealand
Once all your documents have been verified, submit your application to the New Zealand Nursing Council. Additionally, the applicant must complete the following requirements:
- Two (2) mandatory free online courses
- The fitness to practice
